FAQs

How do I order?

I currently open for orders on specific days once or twice a month. Please check my website homepage or my Instagram for announcements on when I will be taking orders. Once they are sold out, they will be sold out until the next launch.

On launch days, I open for orders at 9am PST. At that time, portraits will be restocked on my site and you can checkout. They do sell out quickly, so best to set an alarm! Your order isn't fully placed until you reach the confirmation page.

How do you receive my photos?

I will send out an email within 48 hours of your order for all your details and photos. Please respond within 72 hours with your photos. If you need more time to gather photos, please let me know!

What are the best photos to send?

High quality, straight on or side photos work best. Remember, the more details your photo has, the more details your portrait will have. Photos taken from above and from below can affect the proportions of the art.

Can I add my pets fur to the portrait?

Yes! The portrait will be mainly felted with wool but I can add little bits of clean pet fur to the top layer. After your order is placed, you can let me know by email that you would like to do this. You can then ship your fur to me via letter mail. Only a small amount is needed. To have the fur added in, you must ship it to me as soon as possible after receiving my shipping contact. The delay in sending off your fur will delay your portrait. I am not responsible for shipping fees or loss of fur in the mail.

What is your turnaround time?

Turnaround time is approximately 6 weeks. Each portrait is custom made and takes time to complete.

Do I see my portrait before it ships out?

I do not send photos before shipping out. I like to keep it a surprise for when it arrives to you!  I find the details and colouring always show better in person vs a photo. Sneak peeks may appear on my Instagram. A photo may also be sent if requested.

Can my portrait be changed from a frame to a hoop and vice versa afterwards?

Once your portrait is finished in a hoop there is no way to change it back as it is sewn into place. A portrait finished in a frame can potentially be changed to a hoop. Sometimes the felted area is too big to fit into my hoops. If this is requested, shipping fees and materials costs will be at the customers expense.

My framed portrait has little bubbles in the fabric. Is there a way to fix this?

Yes! When I send them off they are all nicely applied to the backing with no bubbles. During the shipping process or over time you may notice the fabric lifts from the backing close to the felted part. This is no worries at all. Simply push/smooth the fabric back down. The fabric is applied to a sticky board and sometimes near the felted area it just needs a few extra little pushes to stick back!

Do you do returns/refunds?

If I have not started your portrait yet, a refund can be applied. I will automatically refund your order if I have not received photos or heard from you through email within 72 hours. If your portrait arrives damaged or you are unhappy with the finished result please contact me.

Choosing Your Reference Photos

Wooly portraits are based specifically from the photos you send! This means that your portrait is going to end up looking as close as possible to your original photo. The quality of your photo and placement of your pet will drastically affect your portrait.

If a good reference photo cannot be supplied, I reserve the right to cancel your order.

Photos that are NOT usable

  • Photos taken from above
  • Photos taken from below
  • Bad Lighting (too dark or over exposed)
  • Photos with filters
  • Photos taken of photos
  • Photos of your pet laying down against something

Check out these examples. These photos were either taken from above or below the pet which is not ideal.

Photos that are usable

  • Straight on or side profiles work great!
  • Good lighting where you can see the pets eyes and features
  • A relaxed face, either tongue in or tongue out

Sending multiple photos for me to choose from is a great idea! It also helps me see the true colouring of your pet.

Please contact me if you would like me to check your reference photos before ordering!
